It consistently supports students with their research proposals, projects, publications, seminars, workshops, and scholarly initiatives.
The department also works to strengthen a vibrant research ecosystem by facilitating networking with institutions, industries, and organizations at regional, national, and international levels through MoUs, invited talks, and scholarly collaborations.
Objectives
The primary objective of the departmental research programme is to promote a strong research culture and to create opportunities for innovation, critical inquiry, and academic excellence.
- To encourage faculty and students to undertake quality research activities.
- To promote collaboration with academic institutions, industries, and research organisations.
- To conduct seminars, workshops, conferences, and publication-related activities.
- To facilitate project proposals, patents, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Research Activities
The following research activities has been undertaken by the department recently:
- Seminar Proceedings: Inauguration of Heritage: Proceedings of the ICSSR sponsored National Seminar on “Narratives of Culture in Northeast India: Revisiting People, Places and the Nation” edited by Dr. Rijumoni Gogoi on 23rd November, 2024.
- Student Publication: Departmental book Echo, Vol II edited by PG 3rd Semester students Pratiksha Rajkhowa and Mukunda Subedi on 23rd November, 2024.
- Student Publication: Inauguration of handwritten magazine Prometheus, Vol II on 23rd November, 2024 edited by UG 5th Semester student Jyotishna Kundu.
